6 Common Indoor Air Quality Products And How Can They Help You
Are allergies or asthma impacting your life? Is your home struggling with mold, mildew, or too much dust? Indoor air quality products can make a difference.Today, we are diving into the world of indoor air quality products. We will highlight what products we install and some of their benefits to help you decide what products are fits for your home.
So, what are IAQ, or indoor air quality, products?
HVAC accessories that improve the air quality of your home by adjusting humidity to the correct levels, filtering dust and debris, killing bacteria, and more. Here at Mattioni, we offer humidifiers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air purifiers, fresh air ventilation systems, and energy recovery ventilation systems.
1. Whole-Home Humidifiers
A humidifier is a device that adds moisture to your home. It’s primarily used in the wintertime, when humidity levels get low due to running your heating system. Humidifiers can help your home be more efficient, as keeping your humidity level in an ideal place can allow you to turn your thermostat to a lower temperature while keeping it comfortable. It can also help people who suffer from dry skin, nosebleeds, and allergies, as it can improve breathing conditions in the home.
2. Whole-Home Dehumidifiers
Dehumidifiers do the opposite of humidifiers as they remove moisture from the air. These are primarily used in the summertime, as outdoor humidity can leak into the home. Some of the benefits of dehumidifiers are again, efficiency, as you can turn your thermostat up without sacrificing comfort, as well as reducing the risk of mold and mildew in the home and improve breathing conditions.
3. Air Scrubbers
An air scrubber is a UV light that is installed in the supply line of your HVAC system. The light works to kill bacteria and germs that live in your home, to help keep you and your family healthy.
4. Air Purifiers
Air purifiers or upgraded filters for your HVAC system. They take larger four inch filters as compared to the standard one inch filter. This upgrade helps your system breathe better, improving lifespan and efficiency, but it also takes more dust and dirt particles out of the air and last six months to a year before replacement. While standard filters need to be replaced every few months.
5. Fresh Air Ventilators (FAVs)
Fresh Air Ventilators, or FAVs, help to improve your air quality by taking the stale air from inside your home and replacing with fresh air from outside. FAVs can also help to regulate humidity in the home, reduce odors and prevent mold and mildew.
6. Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs)
Energy Recovery Ventilation systems, or ERVs, are very similar to FAVs in how they pull air from the outside to help with air quality. But ERVs also hold heat in the exchange process to help your system run more efficiently.
