Your HVAC system is on the front lines of keeping your home and family comfortable and safe year-round. But if it stops blowing air, you may be left sweltering in the summer heat or shivering in the cold winter months. Before you start panicking, let’s go through a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
Call us at (610) 400-8510 today to schedule an appointment for our friendly technicians to come out and diagnose your HVAC issue.
Check the System’s Filter
The first thing to look at is your system’s filter. A clogged or dirty filter can block airflow, leading to a lack of cool or warm air in your home. If your filter appears dirty or you haven’t changed it in a while, consider replacing it to see if that solves the issue.
Check the Thermostat & Breaker
The problem might be with something other than your HVAC system. It could be as simple as a dead battery in your thermostat or a tripped breaker. Confirm your thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature and switched on.
If that checks out, head over to your breaker panel and ensure the switch for your HVAC system is in the “on” position.
Check the Condenser Fan
If the filter and thermostat are in good condition, the problem might lie with the condenser fan or blower motor. If these aren’t functioning correctly, they could be why your system isn’t blowing air.
Unfortunately, these are not components you can repair yourself, and attempting to do so could cause further damage or even void your warranty.
